Storyboard Blog

The group started their storyboard on October 22, 2019. I, however, was absent because I went on a field trip. The field trip was to bring awareness to others about students who go hungry during the day. This is because their families cannot afford to pay for lunch for them. The trip took place at Hard Rock Stadium located in Hollywood, Florida. It was a great experience overall and made me realize I shouldn’t take things for granted. It was a sacrifice to go on this field trip because I missed an Aicemedia class. This means I missed an assignment also. The assignment giving was to create a blog on the storyboard process. The other members—Charli, Amina, and Josh— were able to complete theirs and conversation over the process.
Although I didn’t contribute as much to the creation of my group’s storyboard, I did give input when we originally started. The storyboard consists of different angles, movements, shots, and editing tools that will be used to make the FLHS Fright Night commercial a success. In the first box of the storyboard sheet ( or the first 5 seconds of the film) a long shot of Amina, the innocent cheerleader would be taken. After that, an over the shoulder shot would be taken behind Amina to show the killer, Charli, face. Then one would also be done over Charli’s shoulder. Next, a tilt would be shot as Amina gets up from picking up her pom pom.
The third storyboard box includes a pan and two-shot of the cheerleader and killer speaking about the fright night. An oblique angle will be used later on in the film to add a feeling of confusion as the cheerleader wakes up and is unaware of where she is. A POV angle will show her getting up and seeing the FLHS Fright Night party. Here, she’ll see students dancing and having a great time. To show this a pan will be used. Then another pan will be taken and she will see her killer at the party!
